Hazardous Substances Procedure

Procedure overview

1 Purpose

To ensure all efforts are made to eliminate, substitute or reduce the amount of and exposure to hazardous substances in the workplace.

2 Scope

This Procedure applies to all Employees, Students, contractors and visitors while they are at the University.

3 Principles

The University is making efforts to eliminate, substitute or reduce the amount of and exposure to hazardous substances in the workplace. If it is not possible to find a suitable substitute for a hazardous substance, all safety precautions must be used to manage the substance.

Those hazardous substances used at the University will be transported, handled, managed and stored in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 (Qld).
