1 Roles

The Staff Equity Advisory Group is a specialist reference group that can be convened when needed to consider and advise the Social Justice Committee on staff equity matters that are not appropriate for consideration at one of the following Sub-Committees of the Social Justice Committee; Status of Women in Employment and Education Committee, Indigenous Affairs Committee or the Disability Advisory Committee.

2 Functions

The functions of the Staff Equity Advisory Group shall be to

  1. Convene when requested by the Social Justice Committee; and

  2. Consider and provide advice to the Social Justice Committee on the briefs provided.

  3. Review Academic Promotion Processes in relation to equity

  4. Review USQ Recruitment and Selection processes in relation to equity

  5. Provide advice to the Social Justice Committee in relation to Queensland and Federal Antidiscrimination and Industrial Relations legislation

  6. Consider issues in relation to workplace flexibility and family friendly workplace initiatives

  7. Analyse workforce and equity data and report to the Social Justice Committee

3 Meetings

3.1 Frequency of Meetings

The Committee shall meet as needed.

4 Membership

4.1 Membership

The membership of the Staff Equity Advisory Group shall be:

  1. Executive Director, Human Resources (Chair)

  2. Chairs of Sub-Committees reporting to the Social Justice Committee that have staff equity as part of their role

    1. Chair, Status of Women in Employment and Education Committee

    2. Chair, Disability Advisory Committee

    3. Chair, Multicultural and Transnational Advisory Committee

    4. Chair, Indigenous Affairs Committee

  3. Two Staff representatives

  4. Staff Equity & Diversity Officer who shall be Executive Officer to the Committee
