1 Role

The Disability Advisory Committee provides a forum for consideration of staff and student equity matters as they relate to disability and oversees the Disability Action Plan process. The Disability Advisory Committee is a sub-committee of the Social Justice Committee.

2 Functions

The functions of the Disability Advisory Committee shall be to:

  1. oversee the implementation of the Disability Action Plan and update the Plan as necessary;

  2. monitor, review and evaluate progress associated with this implementation; and

  3. advise the Social Justice Committee on student and staff equity matters as they relate to disability.

3 Meetings

3.1 Frequency of Meetings

The Committee shall meet six times per year, two of which shall be special meetings to consider the implementation of the Disability Action Plan.

4 Membership

4.1 Membership

The membership of the Disability Advisory Committee shall be:

  1. Manager, Student Equity and Disability

  2. Manager, Counselling and Health, Student Services

  3. Academic Disability Advisers, Faculties (3)

  4. Four (4) student representatives nominated by the Coordinator, Disability Resources, of which only Two (2) will be required to attend any particular meeting

  5. Manager (Operations), Campus Services

  6. Manager, Staff Equity and Diversity, Human Resources

  7. Coordinator, Disability Resources

  8. Director, Learning Resources Development and Support

  9. Disability Technical Adviser, ICT Services

  10. Technical Coordinator, Assistive Technologies, Disability Resources

  11. Disability Resource Officer who shall be Executive Officer to the Committee

  12. Disability Support Coordinator, Springfield Campus

  13. Disability Support Coordinator, Fraser Coast Campus
